‘Gender Pay and Equal Pay – where are we now?’

By the time our May event comes around, all employers with more than 250 employees will have complied with mandatory gender pay gap reporting and we will have had time to assess the position.  Alongside this, we have an upturn in equal pay litigation in the private sector, with some employers facing substantial bills to redress inequality in pay between male and female workers.

A perfect time for the London HR Connection to welcome two employment law experts to take a look at the situation to date, what trends have been identified and what organisations should be looking to do to close their gaps and minimise risk.

Elizabeth Lang is a Partner in Bird & Bird’s International Employment Group and will be joined by Andrew Short QC, one of the top employment QCs in the country.

Liz has been advising a number of clients on their gender pay reporting obligations.  Andrew has a particular expertise in the area of mass equal pay litigation, particularly for claimants. He has recently been involved in the landmark Birmingham City Council public sector case and is currently engaged in the mass litigation against Asda on behalf of 15,000 store workers which is making waves in the private sector and has sparked similar action against Tesco.
