Employing older workers: Engaging with a multigenerational workforce

The London HR Connection is delighted to invite you along to our next live and ‘in person’ (and free of charge) networking event. As well as the chance to meet and network face to face over a glass of wine and something to eat, we are going to be discussing the subject of engaging with a multigenerational workforce.

A third of all workers are over the age of 50. Thirty percent of work related fatalities in 2021 involved workers aged over 60 and research suggests that nearly a million working age employees have left their jobs because of menopausal symptoms. Given that these workers represent the fastest rising workforce demographic these are a significant issues for employers. At this event we will explore the impact of age related issues for older and younger workers, we will look at issues related to fatigue, concentration and separately the menopause. In particular, we consider employment law, H&S safety and practical issues.

Deborah Hely, Employment partner at DAC Beachcroft will focus on the legal issues for employers and Fiona Gill, Partner from the Regulatory team will look at the health and safety issues.

We will also be joined by Sarah Davies, Co-Founder and Director of Talking Menopause, who will examine the impact of the menopause on employees and their colleagues at work and provide some practical advice for employers on addressing these work place issues.
